Advanced Therapeutic Bodyworks is the office and full-time professional practice of Roberto Paredes L.M.T. Roberto has spent a lifetime of learning and practicing healing bodywork. An intuitive healer since childhood, his compassion for others and his own personal commitment to health and wellness shows in his work.
An experienced instructor of massage and other bodywork techniques, Roberto has been a staff instructor at several of the top massage training institutes in the United States. His ability to teach others continues to sharpen his own personal skills which he brings to his private practice.
Roberto specializes in the Rolf Method of Structural Integration (S.I.).
Structural Integration is a specific soft tissue manipulation which uses slow, purposeful strokes to change and align the client's body (or structure), within gravity.
The manipulation makes very positive change by working with the client's myo-fascial body. Myo means muscle and fasciae is the connective tissue present throughout the body which defines a person's shape or form.
Much of chronic pain and dysfunction in human form can be attributed to the shortening and binding of the fascial body due to injury, repetitive stress and/or postural issues.
For over half a century Structural Integration practitioners have used the techniques created by Dr. Ida P. Rolf to affect permanent and powerful healing in people of all ages all around the world.
Roberto has combined his advanced knowledge of anatomy and the human structure in movement to apply the Rolf Method to his clients from 10 years of age to well over 90. Rolf Method Therapy in Phoenix

Therapeutic Massage reaches deeper layers of muscles. While still relaxing, it is used to increase circulation of blood and lymph fluid to break down 'knots' and relieve pressure points . This massage is beneficial for athletes and those who sit for long periods of time. These techniques can be corrective and relieve acute or chronic pain.

Sports massage and stretching techniques combine deep tissue manipulation and range of motion (R.O.M.) activities for the patient with to purposes of relieving pain and increasing sport performance. Aligned structures and free moving muscles provide increased power and prevent injuries.
T'ai Chi/ Qigong are forms of "moving meditations" (from China) that involve gentle and slow purposeful movements that improve balance, flexibility and increase R.O.M.. Roberto has been practicing this work since 2000. Private instruction both as an adjunct to your treatments or formal classes are available.
Thai-Yoga massage combines deep tissue pressure along the acupressure points of the body with stretching and passive R.O.M. This therapy is usually done on a mat while lying on the floor. The patient wears loose comfortable clothing. Thai massage facilitates flexibility in the joints, increase circulation and vitality. Thai massage provides the same benefits as taking a yoga class (hence the "Thai-Yoga" title). Take Thai massage to enhance and advance your yoga practice to a higher level.
Patients often ask, " How soon will I feel better?" or, "How many sessions will it take for me to get relief?". Of course each person's body will respond differently to treatment, but most patients feel relief in the first session. The important thing is to take action, get the treatments, start reducing the inflammation and restriction.
Afterwards, the body's natural healing process can continue you along the recovery path. Acute (new) injuries can sometimes resolve in 1-3 sessions. If a condition has being going on for weeks or months, then more time may be needed for better integration. Start today!
